About

The Foundry House is a team rather than an agency.  We are a dynamic group of associates that draws on a wealth of experience in campaign planning, media relations, social media marketing, design, web development and event management to deliver cost-effective solutions for our clients.

The Foundry House was set up by and takes its name from Marcie Bell (the foundry being well bells are cast!).  We work principally (although not exclusively) with small businesses and handle briefs of all sizes, from one-off by-lined articles to integrated campaigns.

Our focus on small business stems from Marcie who has worked extensively within the business/investment eco-system alongside business advisors, angel investors, entrepreneurs and early stage businesses.

The Virtual Communications Director plugs a gap for young, growing businesses that are not yet ready to employ someone experienced on a full time basis.  It sees Marcie working as a part time extension of a client’s team, getting to know the company from the inside and providing strategic communications advice and hands-on support.  For clients wishing to up-skill a member of staff, Marcie will provide mentoring aimed at building in-house capacity.  Either way, the Virtual Communications Director is a common sense way for companies to access skills and experience and ensure joined up, cost-effective communications.

We believe the images on this website capture The Foundry House ethos:

Disciplined: you can rely on us to be on time, on message and on top of our work/brief for you. As experienced project managers, we are consummate forward planners with an eye for detail.

Strategic thinking: because we come at things fresh we bring a different perspective which, combined with your day-to-day knowledge of your business informs a clear strategic plan.

We are trusted because: we don’t make promises we can’t keep, we’ll tell you if we think you’re barking up the wrong tree and we get results.

Flexible: The Foundry House model offers a highly flexible solution to your communications needs. Project-based or retainer; one consultant or a team. It’s your call.

Fun: to do a really good job, you need to enjoy what you do and the way you work. And we do!
The stimulation we get from each other’s ideas and experience is ploughed into our work for our clients so you get current, creative and strategic advice and we have fun delivering it.

And last but not least, we are connected: we couldn’t find an image we liked to illustrate this but connections count. When we see an opportunity, we will connect you with people we feel could help you get where you want to go.
