Is your business at a crossroads and in need of a fresh approach to comms and marketing?

Let me be your guide and critical friend.

Hi, I am Marcie

I work with founders who are ready to invest in scaling up their communications and marketing to fuel growth.

As an experienced comms and marketing generalist, I have a broad skillset which enables me to take a helicopter view of what’s working and not working. I help founders and leadership teams prioritise areas for improvement and work out a measured approach to enhanced comms and marketing, taking account of business goals, existing resource and other influencing factors.

During my career, I have worked for companies of all shapes and sizes, from start-ups to listed companies. I particularly enjoy working with founder-led and family businesses, because there is often more scope to influence change and move things forward at pace.

Drawing on over 30 years’ experience, I bring strategic insight and a healthy dose of pragmatism.

Some clients are looking for a critical friend to help them work out where to focus their effort. Others have a robust business plan and are ready to grasp the nettle to fuel growth. Whatever the starting point, I listen and adjust my approach accordingly.

Why founder-led small businesses?

In my experience, founder-led businesses bring slightly different challenges and opportunities in addition to those that are common to many small businesses. I love the variety this brings to my work.

Apart from the deep knowledge which comes with building something from the bottom up, founders are vested, both emotionally and financially. This makes them highly motivated to succeed and often a gift for communications.

Change can be particularly hard for founders. That’s why the role of a critical friend with relevant expertise is important. I enjoy the additional dimension this brings to my client relationships. For those with ambition to grow, an open mind and a readiness to invest in comms and marketing, there are exciting opportunities.
